In accordance with the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, the Chabad House strives to ensure that the mitzvot are performed with perfection, not only in the spiritual sense, but also in physical splendor and beauty. This approach expresses the aspiration to direct the entire greatness of creation and dedicate it to the work of the Creator, the Blessed One.
In 2005, construction began on a mikveh for vessels, designed to enable the observance of the mitzvah of immersing vessels – a mitzvah from the Torah. This mitzvah requires purifying glass, iron, and, as is customary, plastic vessels that were owned by a gentile and are considered impure. In order for these vessels to be suitable for use by the Jewish people, who are a holy and pure people, they must be immersed in a kosher mikveh and their impurity removed.
The construction of the mikveh was accompanied by many difficulties and challenges, with repeated attempts made over the years to complete the project. By the grace of God, in Iyar 5783, the mikveh of the tools was officially opened to the public.
The mikveh is strictly kosher and its water is rainwater brought especially from the Andes Mountains.
We invite you to come at all hours of the day and immerse vessels in the mikveh in the most elegant and appropriate manner. By fulfilling this mitzvah, we will be able to add holiness and purity to the Jewish people.
